Dublin, California, August 28, 2001 --- Zendex Corporation, a 20-year veteran of the embedded control systems industry, has developed a method to boost the memory capacity of existing embedded processor boards by 300% or more without actually modifying the processor board itself.

Zendex engineers initially developed the ZXE-486MEM Memory Extension Module from concept to prototype in just two weeks for a company that quickly needed additional on-board memory. Modifying a custom embedded system board to increase the memory would have taken too long, cost to much and resulted in obsolete older system boards. The answer was to create a stackable, add-on memory module which would interface with EPROM sockets on the existing system board, increasing EPROM memory on the multi-function ZXE-486 embedded controller board from 8MB to 22MB. The concept is applicable to other boards with IC memory sockets as well.
